Visa Requirements & Useful Info

Visa / Passport Requirements

Ready for your UK adventure? Don't forget your passport – it's your ticket in!

For both U.S. and EU citizens, the entry process is simplified with visa-free access for tourism or business stays of up to 90 days.

Ensure the longevity of your passport covers the entire duration of your visit, and it is advised to exhibit ample financial means for your stay, accompanied by possession of a return flight ticket.

For citizens of other nations, visa requirements may diverge. It is recommended to acquaint yourself with the specific regulations pertinent to your nationality.

Currency

In the UK, we use the Pound Sterling (£) as our currency. You'll find notes in £50, £20, £10, and £5, and coins in 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1, and £2.

If you're in Scotland, no worries – they use the same currency with similar notes and coins. However, Scottish banknotes might be a bit picky outside Scotland. While legal, some places in England might not take them.

English banknotes? No problem – they're happily accepted everywhere in the UK!

Credit Cards

Whether you're in England or Scotland, you're good to go with your Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. They're widely accepted everywhere – so swipe away with a smile!

Gratuity Guidelines

Driver Guide: The recommended gratuity for a driver guide is in and around £100.00 per day.

Meals: Typically, gratuity ranges from 10% to 15% based on food and service quality. Exceptionally good service might warrant 20%, while poor service could result in a lower tip.

Drinks: It's not customary to tip bar staff.

Hotel Staff: A small tip is appreciated for porters, chambermaids, and other hotel staff, depending on the service quality. Suggestions include porters, maids, concierge, breakfast wait staff, etc.
